WANT TO GET MORE INVOLVED?

We are always looking for more help.  As you might imagine, with over 400 players on the FCSA rosters every year, we need as much help as we can find.  From Coaches to Board Members, there are any number of positions with FCSA where you could share your time and talents.  And we have plenty of resources to help you should you decide to join us.

All of the positions that are discussed below are VOLUNTEER positions only.

COACHES
This is the one place where we typically need the most help.  Those 400 players?  They play on about 20-30 teams over the course of a year.  And every one of those teams needs a coach.  If you have soccer experience or were once a player, then this might be just the job for you.  The time commitment?  Roughly 3 to 4 hours per week will cover both one practice and your game.  And don't worry if you've never coached before.  As we mentioned, we have plenty of people within FCSA who love to share their knowledge of the game and their coaching experience.  We even have books, DVDs, etc that you can look at.  And our website has a number of practices/drills laid out that you can refer to.

COMMISSIONERS
This is probably FCSA's most important job.   We GENERALLY have one commissioner per age and gender division.  So....we TRY to have a commissioner for our U8B teams as well as a commissioner for our U8G teams.  Your job?  Several things here.  We ask that you help assign players to teams before the season begins.  Then, once we begin playing, we ask that you walk the fields to see your teams play each week.  But, walking the fields each week for an hour or so, meeting and getting to know your coaches is what we'd like to see.

Also, as a commissioner, we ask that you assume the role of liaison between the coaches for your division and the FCSA administrators.  As commissioner, we ask that you listen to problems coaches or parents are having, investigate issues that arise, and report to the FCSA administration how things are working.

Being a commissioner is also your first step towards becoming a member of the FCSA Board of Directors.

BOARD MEMBERS

This, of course, is the administrative group that oversees all the operations of FCSA.   Our Board of Directors helps establish rules, makes sure rules are enforced, orders uniforms, oversees disciplinary issues, listens to suggestions/complaints, and, in general, tries to make sure FCSA is doing everything it can to ensure players have fun and that parents are happy with the results.

Our Board Members also walk the fields on Game Day Saturdays/Sundays plus we oversee night games to make sure everyone behaves themselves.  Plus we have a board meeting once per month.  This meeting lasts roughly 2-3 hours.  But, as a board member, you're never really NOT working.  There are always issues that need to be addressed.

Interested?  And we hope you are...simply contact the FCSA offices.  Email us at [email protected] and let us know.  We will be happy to answer any questions you might have.

Keep in mind...all volunteers are subject to a background check and must sign an agreement allowing that.
